Occupational therapy for physical disabilities
A physical disability can affect how you carry out everyday activities. Activities that used to come naturally may now require more time, strength or energy. Sometimes certain tasks become less practical to perform, or you may feel uncertain about what you are still able to do.
You may notice that personal care takes more effort, household chores take longer, or that work, hobbies or social activities may not come as naturally. Changes in your mobility, stamina, strength or physical capacity may also affect how you organise your day.
Occupational therapy helps you to carry out everyday activities as independently, safely and enjoyably as possible. In doing so, we look not only at physical changes, but above all at how activities can continue to suit your abilities.

What do we offer?
Occupational therapy for people with physical disabilities focuses on maintaining, adapting or regaining the ability to carry out daily activities.
During an initial assessment, for example, we look at:
- which activities have become difficult to carry out;
- the influence of strength, mobility and resilience on everyday activities;
- how much energy activities require;
- the role of assistive devices and practical adjustments;
- opportunities to carry out activities differently or more efficiently.
Depending on your situation, our support may consist of advice, skills training, energy management, assistive devices, ergonomic advice or practical adjustments that fit in with your daily life.
