Costs of occupational therapy
Occupational therapy is covered by the basic health insurance up to 10 hours per calendar year. The statutory excess applies to care covered by the basic health insurance, and this also applies to occupational therapy. The excess for 2026 has been set at a minimum of €385.
We have contracts with all health insurers in the Netherlands, which means that reimbursement is handled directly in accordance with your health insurer’s policy terms and conditions.
Do you have supplementary insurance? If so, you may be entitled to reimbursement for more than 10 hours of occupational therapy under your supplementary insurance. Would you like to know exactly what your health insurer covers? Then take a look at this page.
Once your reimbursed hours for occupational therapy have been used up, you will be charged for any follow-up treatment at our private rates. For 2026, these have been set at €23.50 per quarter of an hour of treatment time.
A surcharge of €45 per visit will be charged for home visits or workplace visits.
