To determine whether you are eligible for reimbursement under the basic health insurance scheme, you must first make an appointment with a podiatrist. Your GP can refer you for this.

The podiatrist also updates your personal treatment plan every year. This treatment plan sets out the care you will receive from the podiatrist that year and the treatments carried out by the medical pedicurist.

Only medically necessary treatments required to prevent foot ulcers are covered by basic health insurance. You do not pay any excess for this care.
