Time for yourself
Do you find that you have little time left for yourself? Perhaps you are looking after others, working, running the household and constantly putting your own rest on hold. You might think that you’ll have time later. But if that ‘later’ never comes, you will slowly become exhausted. Making time for yourself is not selfish. It is necessary to stay healthy and to be able to continue looking after others. It is precisely when you have a lot of responsibility that you need moments when you do not have to worry, organise or react.

What do you notice?
Not having enough time for yourself can have a significant impact on your energy levels and mood.
You may, for example, notice that:
- when you wake up;
- you do very little that makes you happy;
- you get irritated easily;
- you are unable to rest;
- you postpone your own appointments;
- you have trouble sleeping;
- you feel guilty when you do something for yourself;
- you have few social contacts;
- you feel as though you’re the only one giving.
Sometimes you don’t even know exactly what you need anymore. That can happen if you’ve been focusing mainly on others for a long time.
