Organising practical support
Do you find that there is a lot to organise when it comes to caring for a loved one? Perhaps this involves appointments, transport, medication, household chores, paperwork or liaising with various care providers. Organising practical support can take up a lot of time and energy, especially if you’re not quite sure where to start. Many people find themselves doing more and more without a clear plan. This works for a while, but can eventually become too much to bear. Organising support more effectively often brings greater peace of mind – for you and for your loved one.

What do you notice?
If practical support is not properly organised, daily life can become chaotic.
You may, for example, notice that:
- you have a lot to remember;
- appointments get mixed up;
- you often get calls about minor issues;
- tasks remain undone;
- you do not know who is responsible for what;
- family members working at cross purposes;
- you have little time for your own life;
- you’re constantly putting out fires;
- you’re worried you might forget something.
Sometimes you feel as though you’re the linchpin of everything. That can be a burden, especially when others don’t realise how much administrative work you do.
