What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

Diabetes podiatrist: Working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure that foot problems cause people as little disruption as possible. Collaborating with the patient and working towards the best possible outcome is a wonderful journey that you undertake together.

Head of the Medically Necessary Foot Care Department: Making care a little better every day, with a focus on what patients, colleagues and the care itself really need.

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people get through life more easily?

Sometimes you have to pause in order to move forward again.

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

I get a great deal of energy and enjoyment from my work. I’ve been asked on occasion whether I’d like to do more of one thing or more of another, and on both occasions the answer was no. I’m in the right place and can really do what I’m good at and what I enjoy.

What do you do outside of work that people might not expect of you?

I’m a jack-of-all-trades; I enjoy sport, I’m creative and I’m a scout leader. There are so many things to enjoy, and I love trying out new things.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?

I really love being part of such a large team of professionals. Empower someone and everything they are capable of will come to the fore.
