More about me
What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?
In my role as a podiatry assistant and medical pedicurist, I particularly enjoy the variety in my work. Fitting an insole as instructed by the podiatrist, carrying out a medical foot examination, and, during a subsequent treatment, relieving someone of a painful corn. Contact with patients is important to me; working with lots of different people and making a contribution to healthcare is what I do it for!
What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people navigate life more easily?
"Prevention is better than cure"
How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?
Meaningful conversations, listening and making a difference to patients, in whatever form, are what make the work worthwhile for me
What do you do outside work that people might not expect of you?
Running, yoga, Pilates, reading and writing, and doing odd jobs in and around the house
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
My family is the most important thing to me; if my sons are doing well, I’m doing well too
