Communication campaign on rheumatism
At Rondom, we help people to continue walking and moving comfortably, even if you have a form of rheumatism. For us, walking is not just about physical movement; it is also about the freedom to work, play sport and actively participate in daily life.
Support for everyone
We believe it is important that good support is accessible to everyone, including people with rheumatism. That is why, on World Rheumatism Day, we launched, together with National Association for Rheumatism Care in the Netherlands the campaign ‘Walking as comfortably as possible, even with rheumatism’.
With this campaign, we sought to raise awareness of rheumatism and the role of walking support. We demonstrated how exercise, support and proper guidance can help people continue to walk more comfortably.
Campaign activities
For three months, we shared blogs, stories and videos. In these, we provided explanations and practical information about walking and staying active with rheumatism. We concluded the campaign on 13 January with a webinar, in collaboration with ReumaZorg Nederland.
This campaign was made possible in part by the efforts of our rheumatology podiatrists Monique Gouw, Sabine van der Peet-de Haan and Monique Janssen. They use their knowledge and experience to better support people with rheumatism in walking and moving.
Webinar
To mark the end of the campaign, we organised the webinar ‘Walking as comfortably as possible, even with rheumatism’ in collaboration with ReumaZorg Nederland.
During this webinar, our colleague Monique Gouw explained how to walk and stay active with rheumatism. Monique is a podiatrist specialising in rheumatism and has over 25 years’ experience. In the webinar, she explained how you can stay active with rheumatism. She also explained the importance of good shoes and podiatry insoles for those experiencing discomfort whilst walking. She provided information on the financial support that people with rheumatism may be entitled to. The webinar can be viewed via the ReumaZorg Nederland’s website.
