Occupational therapy for work and reintegration
Work places high demands on people. Not only physically, but also mentally and in terms of organisation. Usually, people manage to balance work well with other daily activities. But sometimes you may find that working takes more energy, causes symptoms or doesn’t come as naturally as it used to.
You may experience pain whilst working, tire more easily, find it difficult to keep up with your work, or notice that concentration, sensory processing or recovery require more attention. Even after an illness, overwork, a period of absence or changes in health may raise questions about returning to work.
Occupational therapy helps you to carry out tasks in a way that suits your abilities, workload and daily life. In doing so, we look not only at your workplace, but also at building up, maintaining or resuming work, and at a safe return to work during a reintegration programme.
What do we offer?
Occupational therapy for work and reintegration focuses on healthy, enjoyable and sustainable functioning at work, and on providing support for a return to work when a person is temporarily struggling to cope.
During an initial assessment, for example, we look at:
- which activities give you energy or, conversely, require a lot of energy;
- how your working day is structured and where bottlenecks arise;
- workload and work capacity whilst working;
- work attitude, work organisation and working environment;
- opportunities to develop, adapt or reorganise work activities.
Depending on your situation, our support may consist of advice, workplace optimisation, energy management, coaching, support with returning to work, phased return to work or practical adjustments tailored to your job and daily life.

Who is this offer intended for?
Occupational therapy for work and reintegration may be appropriate if you:
- symptoms experienced during or after work;
- find that you are struggling to get through your working day;
- becomes tired more quickly or does not recover sufficiently;
- has difficulty with concentration, stimulus processing or the allocation of attention;
- support for returning to work following illness, absence or recovery;
- if you wish to build up your working hours or duties responsibly;
- is looking for a better work-life balance;
- want to explore how you can continue to carry out your work in a sustainable manner.
What can you expect?
An appointment with the occupational therapist begins with a discussion about your work, your working environment and what you need to be able to work comfortably or return to work. In doing so, we look not only at your role, but above all at how you experience, carry out and sustain your work.
Depending on your situation, we analyse how your work is progressing and what factors influence your performance at work. This may involve looking at your approach to work, daily routine, recovery periods, task allocation, work structure or the layout of your workplace. In the case of a return-to-work programme, we also look at ways to gradually build up your workload in a responsible manner and ensure a sustainable return to work.
In any case, you can count on:
- practical advice tailored to your work;
- focus on energy, recovery and resilience;
- support for a sustainable return to work;
- practical solutions that can be applied in practice;
- collaboration with other healthcare providers from Rondom where this adds value.

Collaboration with other healthcare providers
Staying able to work effectively or returning to work sometimes requires more than one form of support. That is why our occupational therapists work alongside other healthcare professionals at Rondom where necessary.
Depending on your situation, this could be, for example, a physiotherapist, lifestyle coach, psychologist, podiatrist or another practitioner. Together, we will look at how physical strain, energy levels, recovery and daily activities influence one another, so that the support provided is tailored to your work and daily life and to a sustainable return to work during or after reintegration.
