Disruption of circulation and tissue function
Do you suffer from cold feet, discolouration, swelling or a wound that isn’t healing properly? Or does your foot feel different from usual? For example, is it painful, numb or, conversely, extra sensitive? If so, there may have been a change in the blood flow or the healing of the tissue in your foot.
A disturbance of circulation and tissue function is a collective term for symptoms in which the foot receives reduced blood flow, reacts differently or recovers less effectively. It is important to take these signs seriously.

What is it?
A disruption to circulation and tissue function means that your foot is less well supplied with blood or does not recover as well. As a result, your foot may become more prone to problems. Circulation refers to the blood supply to your feet and legs. Tissue function refers to how the skin, muscles, nerves and other tissues work and recover.
If circulation and tissue function are impaired, the foot becomes more vulnerable. Pressure sores, cuts or pain can develop more quickly. Recovery may also take longer.
