Podiatric examination
A podiatry assessment consists of several parts. Which parts are examined depends on your symptoms and the help you are seeking. We look at your feet, but also at your posture and the way you move.
A podiatry assessment often consists of:
- A personal consultation (medical history);
- Physical examination (functional examination);
- Analysis of your gait;
- A pressure measurement of the feet;
- Discussing the diagnosis;
- Drawing up a treatment plan.
Below, we explain each section to you in more detail, step by step.
Our podiatrists look at the bigger picture. So they don’t just focus on your pain. In this way, we treat your condition, but we also help to prevent recurring problems. This is in line with our vision of early detection, sustainable recovery and continuing to enjoy daily life.

Face-to-face consultation (medical history)
The podiatrist begins with a personal consultation. You will discuss the following with your podiatrist:
- What symptoms you are experiencing;
- When the symptoms first appeared;
- At what times do you experience the most discomfort from your condition?
We will also look together at your daily activities, such as work, sport and other things that may be affecting your symptoms.
