Pain on the inside of the foot (insertional tendinopathy of the tibialis anterior)
The tibialis anterior muscle, the anterior tibial muscle, is a muscle that runs from the tibia, via the front of the ankle, to the inside of the foot. It is a tendon that prevents the foot from slapping against the ground when walking and, as it were, lifts the foot.
Pain is felt on the inside of the ankle (where the muscle attaches). Sometimes the area feels warmer and there is redness and/or swelling.
The treatment involves addressing the cause (usually the foot rolling inwards). In the acute phase, this can be achieved through taping. If the complaint is caused by an incorrect foot position, corrective podiatric insoles will be made.
The expected outcome is good to symptom-free. Depending on the cause, some treatments will be continued on a long-term basis.

A treatment
The treatment involves addressing the cause (usually the foot tilting inwards). In the acute phase, this can be achieved through taping. If the problem stems from an incorrect foot position, corrective podiatric insoles will be made.
The result
The expected outcome is good to symptom-free. Depending on the cause, some treatments will be continued on a long-term basis.
