Amputation at the Chopart/Lisfranc joint
In the case of an amputation at the Chopart/Lisfranc joint, part of the foot is surgically removed. The Chopart joint line runs along the bones talus, calcaneus, navicular and cuboid. The Lisfranc joint line separates the metatarsals from the medial, lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones and the cuboid bone.
The treatment consists of a podiatric insole designed to correct the position of the foot where necessary and to fill the gap left by the missing part of the foot inside the shoe.
The expected outcome is the ability to roll the foot (reasonably) well again, both whilst standing and whilst walking.
