Anxiety
You may recognise this: your heart starts beating faster, you feel tension in your body, or you find yourself wanting to avoid certain situations.
Anxiety can start small. But sometimes the anxiety gets worse and increasingly dictates what you do or don’t do.
That can be tricky. You may find that travelling, working, socialising or doing things with friends becomes more difficult.
You may wonder why your body reacts so strongly, even when there is no immediate danger at that moment.

What is it?
Fear is a normal physical reaction to potential danger. Your body goes on high alert so that you can react quickly.
Sometimes anxiety arises even though there is no immediate danger at that moment. The reason for your anxiety is not always immediately apparent. Yet your body still reacts as if there were a danger.
