What is your role and what gives you energy in your work?

Podiatrist, MSU foot and ankle ultrasound technician, and soon to be a manual therapist.

I get energy from helping people (young and old) with their needs and from the enjoyable conversations I have at the practice

What is your favourite quote, motto or tip to help people get through life more easily?

"Having a positive outlook on life starts with looking after yourself and others."

As a podiatrist, I derive a great deal of energy from helping people with their needs. The conversations I have every day show just how important it is to listen to one another, to think in terms of possibilities and to look ahead with a positive outlook. Often, it is precisely the small steps that make a big difference in someone’s daily life.

How can you tell from your work that it really suits you?

The variety of treatments, the patients’ feedback (generally all very satisfied) – looking after others makes me happy

What do you do outside of work that people might not expect of you?

Erm… don’t expect it. I’m sporty and absolutely love getting out and about with family and friends. I also enjoy going on holiday and am therefore regularly away for a weekend or longer
