Deformation/malformation of the foot (Charcot foot)
Charcot foot is a condition that occurs, amongst others, in patients with diabetes. The foot has become numb and small fractures develop in the foot. Bone quality deteriorates, leading to the destruction of the foot. The shape of the foot changes. This is not a case for a primary care podiatrist; you will be referred directly to a specialist foot clinic at a hospital.
