Post-traumatic dystrophy (Sudeck’s dystrophy)
Are you still experiencing a lot of pain following an injury, operation or broken bone? Or have you noticed that your foot, ankle, hand or wrist is reacting differently than you would expect during recovery? If so, you may be suffering from post-traumatic dystrophy. Nowadays, this is usually referred to as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
CRPS can develop in an arm or leg. If you experience symptoms in the foot or ankle, walking, standing and wearing shoes can become difficult.

What is it?
CRPS is a pain condition that develops following an injury (trauma) or an operation.
In CRPS, the body reacts differently than expected during recovery. The pain persists or worsens, whilst the original injury heals. Changes may also occur in sensation, temperature, colour and movement.
