Capsular/bone irritation of a joint
A joint injury or irritation may result from the joint in question becoming irritated or overloaded, which can lead to pain or stiffness.
The symptoms vary and depend on the severity of the abnormality. Mild abnormalities will cause fewer symptoms than more serious ones. It is possible that bony spurs may be present in a joint, which may also cause pain in that area.
The treatment involves relieving pressure on the affected joint or joints by means of podiatric insoles, orthoses (toe splints), taping or an anti-pressure bandage.
