Osteoarthritis of the ankle joint
Do you have pain or stiffness in your ankle? Or do you find that walking, climbing stairs or standing for long periods is becoming more difficult? If so, you may have osteoarthritis of the ankle joint. This is also known as wear and tear of the ankle joint.
With osteoarthritis, the ankle does not move as smoothly. As a result, everyday activities may become more difficult and you may find yourself moving differently.

What is it?
Osteoarthritis is a condition in which the cartilage in a joint changes. Cartilage helps bones to move smoothly against one another.
Osteoarthritis of the ankle joint makes it harder to move the ankle. This can alter the way the foot rolls when walking and may cause symptoms when moving or putting weight on the ankle.
