Wear and tear in the hip joint (coxarthrosis)
Coxarthrosis is osteoarthritis of the hip joint.
What is it?
Coxarthrosis is osteoarthritis of the hip joint; this is diagnosed using an X-ray.
A treatment
Where there is an abnormality in the position and function of the hip, combined with an abnormality in the position and function of the foot (and/or the knee), a check is carried out to determine whether there is a leg-length discrepancy. Corrective podiatric insoles can help to normalise the load on the hip as much as possible.
The expected outcome is that existing osteoarthritis will remain, but pain relief is certainly possible, as is slowing its progression.
